But today, there are turtles, and I’ve never seen them here before. Perhaps the lack of clouds has beckoned them to venture forth, and leave their cozy hideaway. Taking a last sip of our coffee and finishing the last crumb of the tender biscuits with butter and berry-flavored jam, I notice that the restaurant is full and many customers are waiting for a table. I look at Heather and can tell we are thinking the same thing—it is a good thing we decided to leave the house earlier than planned. The restaurant is open Wednesday through Saturday from 8am to 10pm and Sundays until 3pm. They serve breakfast, lunch, and brunch daily from 8am to 3pm.

We will drive two-and-a-half hours for Saturday lunch; for the journey and the destination. I love picnics and trying out local wineries. Food and wine pairings draw me like a magnet. Concerts are on the menu at our house every year, be they concerts in a house, in a park, in a barn, in an auditorium or at a winery--we're there.
